Welcome to the Borderline Speedway, Mount Gambier, South Australia, (situated between Adelaide and Melbourne), the home of the Kings Sprintcar Challenge and a City surrounded by Craters, Caves, Sinkholes and the world famous Blue Lake.
Borderline Speedway is a club run venue (one of a few major venues left in the country that are not promoter run), therefore any profits from the meetings are put directly back into improvements at the venue. The Speedway is located 8kms to the East of Mount Gambier on the Princess Highway.
The picturesque Borderline Speedway is set amongst many old Gum trees and the always immaculate green grassed banks that surround the entire circuit make viewing one of the best in the country, or if you get to the venue early, grab a seat in the turn four grandstand for unrestricted viewing of the action.
The 372 metre ‘Bullring’ has hosted many Blue ribbon events in the past including the ’95 Australian Sprintcar Title, Australian Super Sedan Title, two Aussie Street Stock Championships, several rounds of the International Series 500 Solo Bike Series and recently a Stadium Motocross event.
The Borderline Speedway also boasts some of the best catering facilities in the country (just ask anyone who has visited us and ask them about the famous ‘Home Made Soup’). There are several canteens located around the venue (no large queues) with all sorts of great food and drinks. And for those who enjoy a quiet alcoholic beverage whilst at the races, then the licensed Turn 3 Bar is for you. No BYO alcohol is permitted into the grounds.
After the racing has concluded, spectators are invited to the pit area to rub shoulders or have their photo taken with their favourite driver, get a few autographs and be part of the official presentations that take part shortly after the conclusion of the meeting.
And finally, when visiting Borderline Speedway, stay another day in this beautiful part of the country. A suggested first stop is to “The Lady Nelson” Visitor and Discovery Centre. The centre provides a personalised information service on Mount Gambier and the Limestone Coast Region.
