Easter Finale At Borderline

This Saturday night will the see return of Sprintcar action to Borderline Speedway with the running of round two of the Easter Sprintcar Trail to official close the season. A huge entry list of over 50 cars representing every state and territory have nominated for this popular and prestigious event.

Supporting the Sprintcars, Limited Sportsman are contesting a round of the Tri Series together with a feature for the Streetstocks.

1980 saw the prestigious Easter Sprintcar Trail evolve to promote speedway and to provide race fans and competitors with a multi event competition throughout the South East of South Australia and the Western District of Victoria. Borderline Speedway hosted the very first round of the Trail with Tasmanian, Tim Moncrieff, winning the inaugural round.

Saturday will see the return of many of the big names including, Robbie Farr, Max Dumesny, Danny Reidy and David Murcott whilst our local young talent of Steven Lines, Glen Sutherland, Andrew Cox and Jamie Stark will out there aiming for a spot on the podium.

Western Australian drivers Carl Dowling and Scott Milling make the big trip across the nullabor, whilst Jamie Bricknell, Shaun Dobson and Malcolm Lee head the list from Tasmania.

Along with talented drivers in Adelaide’s Matt Egel, Albury’s Grant Anderson and from Sydney young Mitchell Dumesny and lady racer Kelly Linigen this promises to be one night of action not too miss!

The public gates open at 4.00pm with racing to start at 4.30pm with a round of heats for the Limited Sportsman and Streetstocks before the Sprintcars line up for hot laps and time trials.

The Easter Sprintcar Trail begins at the Avalon International Raceway on Good Friday before heading to Borderline on Easter Saturday. The final leg of the Trail will conclude at Warrnambool’s Sungold Stadium on Sunday.
