Johnson Repeats Speedweek Success

Jason Johnson has backed up his winning form from Murray Bridge to claim Round 6 and Round 3 of speedweek of the Performance wholesalers world series sprintcars. 48 cars had come to play in what was a great turnout for organisers and fans,and the fans were not dissappointed as great racing,spills and great weather provided a top night of racing.
Cameron Gessner, the lanky Queenslander took out the QSS time trials with an 11.64 pass on a demanding and weather beaten track.
After some frantic heat race action and a superb top 8 shootout it was Jason Johnson and Robbie Farr sharing the front row for the 35 lap A main.Brooke Tatnell,Ryan Farrell,Danny Smith and James McFadden rounded out the top 6 in what promised to be a mouth watering final.
At the drop of the green it was Johnson who bolted with Farr in close pursuit.Lap 10 saw a caution when Bryan Mann spun on the back straight for the only caution of the final.Some great dicing during the final between Smith Tatnell and Farrell was well worth the wait and the crowd would of left feeling pleased with a great night of racing.
At the chequers it was Johnson crossing first ahead of Ryan Farrell and Tatnell who endured a right front flat tyre to just edge home Danny smith in 4th.The drive of the night came from Adelaide racer Matt Egel who started from near rear to claim 5th spot and also earn the hard charger award. Rounding out the night was limited sportsman with Mark McDonald taking 3 wins from Joe Aston and Peter Walters keeping him honest and pushing Mcdonald in each heat they battled.
Junior Sedans also provided great racing with 3 wide and door to door action. Borderline's next meeting will feature the Carline Mufflers Super sedan series,Wingless sprints S.A. Title and S.A. Street Stock title,another huge night of action.
